Scratches: Director's Cut is a game developed by Nucleosys and published by Got Game Entertainment in 2007. It is an updated re-release of Scratches, with some additions- including a whole extra chapter that tells a short story about what happens to the Blackwood Manor after the events of the main game.
Due to it being rushed out of production by the game's publisher, the game originally shipped with many game-breaking bugs. As a result, the developer, Nucleosys, had to create a patch to fix the game issues, and they also put out a major content upgrade for the game in the form of an update, nearly 500MB in size.
It's worth noting that attempting to run Scratches or Scratches: Director's Cut on any version of Windows above Windows XP will result in blue screen of death, due to changes in the handling of windows calls. A wiki article on remedying these issues and others is available here.
